Voice and Coaching Studio
As a seasoned teacher with over 20 years experience and active performer in the Vocal Arts Community, my emphasis on developing a positive personal connection enables me to provide a tailored experience based on the needs of the individual.
By integrating both the physical and the psychological aspects of performance, I can optimize each interaction by promoting a stress-free environment to freely explore both the vocal instrument and the inner world of the performer. The feeling of safety is utmost to this process and with a background in Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience, my approach combines both the technical foundation of voice production with full body awareness. These exercises in somatic therapy are not only useful for the developing student, but equally crucial to the seasoned performer who may be experiencing mind and body entanglements that interfere with stamina, create performance anxiety, or contribute to technical complications. With a holistic approach that engages all parts of the learner, we work together to come up with a plan that bests suits your needs.

In addition to my background as a teacher, mentor, master-teacher and speaker, I am active performer and highly adept interpreter of a wide range of repertoire spanning from the baroque to contemporary, I have performed over 45 roles on the operatic stage with companies such as San Francisco Opera, Canadian Opera Company, Vancouver Opera, and more. With an equal passion for the recital and concert stage, guest appearances have included the San Francisco Symphony, Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, Victoria Symphony, and The Marin Symphony, among others. As a champion of contemporary music, I regularly perform premieres by living composers, and I am an active member and board advisor with Left Coast Chamber Ensemble, where my collaborations have yielded recognition as 'Best Chamber Music/Opera Performance' from San Francisco Classical Voice in 2016 and 2018. This extensive performance, teaching and directing experience adapts easily and flexibly across the musical disciplines from stage to classroom.
